On Sunday (16), Italo Ferreira, Brazilian surf icon and world champion, once again shined by winning the title at the second stage of the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This victory, in a wave pool, marked a historic moment in Italo’s career as he claimed his first title in an artificial wave format.

With an impeccable performance and a solid campaign, the Brazilian gave no chances to his opponent, Indonesian surfer Rio Waida. Italo showcased his strength and precision by dominating the final with impressive scores: 8.67 and 8.60, totaling 17.27 points. In comparison, Waida scored 14.50 points (7.83 + 6.67), securing the runner-up spot.

With this major title, Italo Ferreira solidifies his status as one of the best surfers in the world. He now heads to the next stage of the Championship Tour in Portugal, leading the rankings and with high expectations to continue his pursuit of more victories.
