After the pain of elimination in the round of 16 at the final stage of the WSL, the Tokyo Olympic champion found relief by securing a spot among the top 5 in the world for 2024.

Ítalo left Fiji fearing he might miss the grand final, as his fate was no longer solely in his hands. But, as with all his stories of overcoming challenges, this one was no different in its emotional intensity.

After hours of crossing the ocean without internet, Ítalo finally connected and received the news of his qualification. At the airport, overwhelmed with emotion, tears welled up in his eyes. Kneeling in the arrivals hall, he gave thanks. “What a heart,” as a great friend would say, because if there isn’t emotion, it isn’t Ítalo Ferreira.

However, the journey wasn’t over; it was just another hurdle conquered. Like any major mission, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and move on to the next challenge. We will keep fighting until the end, warrior of faith.

Go, Ítalo!
