Italo Ferreira

About

Italo Ferreira is a Brazilian professional surfer whose incredible journey and outstanding performances have cemented his place among the sport’s greatest athletes. A World Surf League (WSL) Champion and the first-ever Olympic gold medalist in surfing. He is the only Brazilian surfer inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame in Huntington Beach, California, and also the first surfer to win, in the same season, the World Surf League (WSL) and International Surfing Association (ISA) titles in the men's category.

Born on May 6, 1994, in Baía Formosa, Brazil, Italo’s story is one of resilience and passion. The son of a fisherman, he began surfing on a makeshift Styrofoam board, quickly developing a dynamic and aggressive surfing style that set him apart.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Italo is deeply committed to his community — he runs a social project supporting underprivileged children in his hometown, reinforcing his belief in giving back to more than 120 kids.
